John Courtney

Over the past 8 years as Director of Information Technology at NYSFDA, John's responsibilities have included application programming, network administration/design/security and management of computer operations.

He received a degree from Western Kentucky University and graduated from the Software Development program at the Kentucky Advanced Technology Institute.

Certifications obtained include CNA (Certified Novell Administrator) and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional). He is currently working on his MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).

John is also a member of ESSAE (Empire State Society of Association Executives) and ASAE (American Society of Association Executives).

John's employer, the New York State Funeral Directors Association, Inc. is based in Albany, NY. Its mission: To enhance the environment in which our members operate and to promote the highest standards of funeral service to the public.

Founded in 1889, NYSFDA is the oldest funeral directors association in the United States and is headquartered in Albany, New York.
